I am
Carlos Campos and the type of person I would think I am is straight forward and
honest. At a certain point we all need to move forward in life with certain
things. If that means having to make decision to resign from my job, I would
let me employer know ahead of time and attempt to provide the necessary
information that my employer might need. This would be one of the most
important steps to take.
I
consider myself a rationalist. I know that with every decision there is a
consequence whether it is good or bad. The point is we learn and we start
finding out who we are and how we deal with certain circumstances that happen
to us. Sometimes being rational is the only proper way to handle situations
because if you make a mistake or not either way your able to say at least I out
thought into it and it wasn’t some decision that was made out of the blue.
If I’m faced with a moment where I have
to resign from my job for whatever reason, I have to be rational about it. I
must understand that I can’t just go into my workplace and let my boss know
that I’m deciding it quit and just head home. Obviously that would be the
opposite of what I consider myself. Therefore I would prepare for the right moment
to inform my employer that I’ve decided to move on and give them a time frame
of how long I plan to stay working at the job for and give the employer a set
date. That way the employer can prepare with time instead of just being what I would
call left hanging.
This is
important to do in point of view because it shows that the maturity level is
very high. It’s not easy to resign from any job so making sure you do it correctly
is a big thing in my point of view. May not take thought but does take time. We
have to be rational and give appropriate reasons to why we are resigning. I
feel that it is very important to give the proper acknowledgement of your
employer and be what I would say “thankful” for the time I spent working at my
job.
At the
end of the day no one wants to go to their boss and say “I quit” or “I resign”.
Yet if it is time to do so then it must be done. Therefore it must be done
correctly and maturely. That’s why I consider
myself a rationalist because I know I will be mature and I know I will handle the
situation in a correct manner. People have their own way of dealing with a
situation like resigning from their job. Some feel that it’s best to just stop
showing up; others feel that a simple email or text will be fine. I feel that
thinking it through and thinking of what you’re going to say plays a huge role.
Therefore I will be ready to inform my employer that it is time to move on and
give my thanks.
